just an add on.. i see a world of difference in the expectations in their jobs(even temp. jobs) and the pay offered. overheard this conver between 2 guys yesterday, who sounded a little not so refined and was carried out in mandarin..
Guy1: eh, she(some name) never come today ah. Guy2: ya lo, she working today mah Guy1: woah working! where she work? Guy2: at that restaurant loh. $5 an hour. Guy1: wah so much ah! Guy2: ya lo, somemore can choose when she want to work. Guy1: ya lo so good. she got lobang ornot? i working now $4.50 and hour like so little the pay Guy2: so little! don't work don't work there. i help u find lobang. i working $5 an hour see they need pple not.

when u compare with people who want $7-$8 an hour, or at least $1300 per month.
